New Local Website Aims At Craigslist-CU

There's a new site that's looking to gain ground on the Craigslist-esque community front, and it's called The House of Paign. It's got a ways to go to gain ground on sites like Craigslist, but there's a lot of potential for growth. It's free to register, and there's also a podcast called a "Hopcast" that seems to feature local music content, which is always a plus.

As always, your comments are appreciated!

Doesn't Chambana already have its own Craigslist? And isn't said craigslist free?

What's the point of doing something that is already being done well by someone else? To sell advertising is the usual answer. Think I'll stick with Craigslist.

Shhh! Using that logic you could theoretically eliminate 97% of the local music scene!

Eh, all art is theft. If I start seeing Google ads on drumheads, then that's a different story. :)

at least you don't have to "make and account" first on houseofpaign. i hate having to register for every site i run across.

I've seen cragslist, but HouseofPaign is so much smoother looking, and the pic hosting is awesome! And I like how they are doing a local artist thing. It's good to get to hear them without having to spend a bunch of time blindly going to shows.

Also, it's locally based, whereas craigslist isn't. Isn't it all about supporting the local scene?

Have you actually checked out house of paign? It is much easier to navigate and find things than craigslist. I like being able to see photos of the items. Besides, it is a local effort - let's support our community.

I just got a great deal on electronics from house of paign. Much easier than combing through classifieds.
